From her window in her lodgings at the The Gilded Rose, Moria could see some of the bustle of the city below
her. Stormwind was an industrious city, perhaps not so much as Ironforge, but that’s what she loved. In the
distance she could hear the clamor from the newly completed Stormwind Harbor. Smells of the ocean wafted
through the city, and added to the aroma of fish and salt water was freshly cut timber. Ships of all sizes were
being built en masse for the coming invasion of Northrend, where Arthas, the Lich King reigned.

The Q:
Not a problem on my server yet, at least not for me. Here’s the scenario? Long day at work and you come home stressed out, Play with the Kid for awhile Kiss the Wife/Husband, eat dinner and decide to play WoW for awhile before bed. You Log in and see the Q. OMG WTF!! You ain’t waiting that long so it looks like northrend will have to wait for awhile.
You spend some qualty time with the Wife, Watch a few shows on TV you have missed since the expansion and help the Kid with some homework. You miss the virginal guild run into the new 10 man and a really awesome Guild PvP run into the opposing factions city.
This was a great level, I got to dig microfilm out of wolf poop, the gnomes sent me into a cave to try some of their new technology and bless their little hearts it didn’t work as well as they hoped. I didn’t have the heart to tell them.
Some of the things that are bothering me. Getting knocked off my mount, I hate it. I have yet to get a quest reward that is better than what I have, I haven’t done an instance yet so I am sure that will change. Otherwise I am totally digging the expansion.
Sometimes the simplest things amuse me. I was questing tonight and couldn’t find the Crafty’s tools I was looking for, So I leaned back in the chair and glanced down and general chat and there it was. I laughed out loud for real.
My Wrath experience started a little late, Amazon didn’t ship me my copy until friday and I was out of town for the first playoff game for the local high school football team, wonderful game with my wife and some friends. I don’t think I missed anything by missing the launch time. What really surprises me is how much I am enjoying Wrath of the Lich King.
I hate the leveling process to be honest. But in Wrath I find that I am enjoying the new stories and background. The quest lines don’t seem to be as boring and brutal as the Burning Crusade was, That is the sole reason I have no alts, Getting to 70 kicked my Ass.
With that said I dinged 71 last night, it might take me a lot longer than most to get to 80 but I am going to enjoy the ride this time. I am going to pay more attention to factions, crafting and the rewards each offer. I really do not want to have to grind reputation after the fact again, not to the extent that I did last time anyway.
I ran to my car after work last night and sped home in anticipation of my copy of Lich King being in the mailbox. Yeah. Well it wasn’t. So I limped towards the house dejected and defeated and logged into my Amazon account and was informed that it was shipped on the 13th. WTF?
Turned out that when I changed banks about six months ago I forgot to give Amazon my new card number. YAY Me.
BRK has a top ten list up of his wait for the expansion last night. Funny stuff. My favorite is this one.
2. The computer science guy extolling the virtues of LISP, then getting into a minor argument with a CS-undergrad over C++ and how a mathematician would easily prefer anything besides it.
Look. When you’re in line with 500 people who are waiting to buy a game expansion and you’re *easily* the geekiest geek there, you need to take a long, hard look at your life. We’re not sayin’, we’re just sayin’

It is 630pm central time here, WoW has been down all day and doesn’t look like it’s coming up anytime soon. I have to work for the next 3 days so if I can’t get logged in to get this final BC patch tonight I am one screwed pooch come the end of the week.
I predict an all day download saturday and maybe log into Lich King for the first time Sunday afternoon or late night.
